When analysis of performance data is used to generalise in any way, it is essential to always calculate a confidence interval (CI) around each statistic.
The CI is a range of values that you can be confident (to a pre-specified level) includes the real value of the statistic for the entire population.
This could be useful if you are analysing repairs data, rent arrears…
