7 reasons to measure the outcomes of your projects (30 Jun 18)

Itís easy to show youíve done things - but how do you prove they were worthwhile?

One thing you may often be asked to do is to show what diference your work has made.

Itís easy to show what activities youíve been involved in, especially when it comes to numbers Ė how many events youíve held, how many people attended, how many newsletters youíve produced and so on.

Whatís harder is to convince others about is the impact or, in the jargon, the outcomes of your work.

Sometimes itís not very clear what results you or others could expect. And even when it is people often donít know how to measure results in a way that doesnít just tick a few boxes, but actually gets to the heart of the matter.

If you do measure the outcomes though there are significant benefits to be had.

Here are 7 reasons from Reinventing Government by  Osborne, D. & Gabler, T as to why you should pay attention to measuring the outcomes of your work.

This list could go on, of course. But thatís a pretty good start!

Best wishes
