Why mobile phones and Twitter go hand in hand (14 Oct 09)

3 times as many people own a mobile phone as a personal computer and they are a lot quicker to use - so any half decent communications strategy should allow for them

Mobile phones can also be a very effective mechanism for listening to people as well as broadcasting to them. We have just launched a service to conduct opinion polls by text message. It is amazing how quickly you can generate a representative sample of public opinion. What's more you know you can reach almost every corner of the community, not just those with 24 hour access to a computer or a landline.
