Social networking sites and social media: A 60 minute blockbuster overview of how the public sector are using social networking and social media - New 1 hour Webinar (£89 + VAT)

Your colleagues probably know better than anyone - so I am sure you can relate to what they are doing with social media

Announcing an entirely new webinar:

Social networking sites and social media: the absolute essentials –
A 60 minute blockbuster overview of how the public sector are
using social networking sites and social media
- 1 hour Webinar (£89 plus VAT)

11 am - 12 o’clock – 27 April 2011

Are you feeling swamped by what’s happening with social media and anxious to make sense of it all?

Or perhaps you want to get up to speed with what your colleagues in other parts of the public sector are up to so that you can improve what you are doing?

Possibly you are on top of things and just want to check that you aren’t missing out on anything.

If any of these apply to you then this invitation is probably the most important you will get this year.

In fact I have wanted to put this session on for some time now. That’s because there is no part of the public sector that isn’t making use of some sort of social media and some are doing some quite extraordinary things.

Fire services are using Facebook to connect with stakeholders and local communities, police forces and their officers are communicating with residents through YouTube and Twitter and local authorities are helping to create on line communities of residents.

And it goes on - housing associations are looking to use Ning to help resident inspectors talk to each other, NHS trusts are using Facebook to engage with their patients and Children’s Centres are using social networking sites to involve parents.

There is no part of the public sector that is untouched by this revolution in communication.

But things are still pretty uncoordinated and many organisations still seem to be feeling their way. Which is why I have asked Ray Poynter, one of the UK’s most respected public sector commentators on the area to put this session on.

It’s ideal for anyone who is any way responsible for communicating and engaging with service users and their local communities. This comprehensive blockbuster of a webinar gives you all the essentials you need to be at the cutting edge of social media.

Ray will give you example upon example of who in the public sector is doing what and how they are doing it.

If you don’t pick up a tons of ideas from other sectors I will be astonished.

The key areas that Ray will cover are:

Your trainer

Ray Poynter is one of the experts on the subject and since the mid-nineties he has been one of the leading innovators in the use of the Internet in consultation and research.

He has over thirty years experience of market research, technology, and innovation and is better placed than anyone I know to explain how organizations are going about using Facebook and how they can do it better.

What delegates had to say about this Webinar and trainer

"Great to be able to listen to a seminar in an environment you are comfortable with. As you are not able to communicate verbally with the speaker, it gives you scope to discuss the presentation as you go between yourselves."
Peter Arnold, Senior Project Worker, Plantdewi
