How to promote an event using social media - One hour live webinar (£99 plus VAT)

How social media can kill apathy, get bums on seats and make sure everyone has a good time – especially you

  11am to 12pm 25th April 2012

We use the word “community” a lot – maybe so much we forget what it means.

Perhaps that’s why more and more community events are run every day.

But never have there been so many competing distractions and other things to do. As a result many events end up poorly attended.

This is a shame, because they are such a wonderful way to draw people together – to create a real sense of community.

What’s more, few things can match the euphoria you feel when an event comes off – or that down in the dumps feeling when it flops.

More often than not success depends upon how well events are promoted. That’s where social media can help out.

While social media can’t solve everything and can’t make a bad idea good, it can easily double, triple or even quadruple attendance if you follow a few principles and do things systematically.

So there is no reason why you should throw your hands up in the air and complain that people don’t want to come to your event.

The trick is to use social media properly. People won’t turn up by accident.

Social media enables you to reach a wide audience. Crucially it enables invitees to connect with each other. It can be used to increase registration, create a buzz around your event and ultimately increase attendance.

Good marketing including using social media needn’t cost a lot, but you do have to think and plan.

You’ll cover a host of vital topics, all designed to increase the number of people who attend your events:

• Which platform should you use?
• How to use Facebook, Twitter and Linked to promote your event
• How to generate traffic to your event pages
• How to set up a registration page both inside and outside of social media
• How to encourage your attendees to engage with each other once they have signed up
• How to interact with your attendees so they can influence the content of your event
• What tools are there to help you manage an event
• How to use social media to keep a record of your event
