How to use Facebook to engage with your service users - one hour live Webinar (£99 plus VAT)

Facebook is great – it’s even overtaken Google - but there are some do’s and don’ts about how to use it

11am - 12pm - 5 February 2013

In February I’m hosting a special event with Andrew Lloyd Gordon, one of the UK’s top experts in this field and I’d love you to join us.

Andrew wants to show you exactly what you should and shouldn’t be doing when you use Facebook to communicate with your service users and their communities.

More people are on Facebook than any other social networking site. In fact there are 600  million of them in the world and 40 million of them are in the UK.

So if you are trying to communicate with people who use your services you really need to join them on their turf, and not yours.

Remember that these people choose to be on Facebook, and many of them use it every day of their lives.

It’s no surprise then that there isn’t a part of the public sector that isn’t making some use of Facebook. Fire services, police forces, social landlords, children’s centres, local government and the NHS are all using it.

You will see that they are using it for all sorts of things:

But don’t worry if your organisation isn’t up to speed yet. You can stand on the shoulders of those who have done it and learn from their mistakes.

And in 60 minutes and all from the comfort of your own office you can learn from Andrew who will walk you through the do’s and don’t.

He’ll cover some of the key concerns that people often have about using Facebook:

Andrew will also show you:

Andrew Lloyd Gordon has been round the digital marketing blocks for years so he really is the ideal person to put together this introductory Webinar.

"Definitely very useful."
Paul Townsend, E-Communications Officer, Newtownabbey Borough Council

"My first webinar and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Sometimes it's difficult to find the time to attend courses but this has been great. Thanks. Everything was covered and I would definitely set up work profile to create pages for the association."
Debbie Toplis, Directorate Administrator, Cymdeithas Tai Eryri

"I have new knowledge on the pitfalls and how to avoid them, not to expect too much from Facebook and the differences between profiles/groups/pages."

"Good webinar - thanks!"
Gemma Berry, Customer Relations Co-ordinator, Sovereign Housing Group

"The use of polls is handy to know about. Should be very useful for housing associations. Also, using conventional advertising to promote the Facebook group. I found it encouraging to hear about how important it is to have all the staff able to monitor Facebook to be able to properly engage with tenants. I will be changing my profile picture to a logo today. Good tip. I will also increase wording about privacy of staff and tenants on Facebook...Thank you, it was a good session."
Tim Crawshaw, Resident Involvement Co-ordinator, Bournemouth Churches Housing Association
