How to train tenants in energy awareness - One hour live Webinar (£99 plus VAT)

Discover how to help your tenants understand and manage their energy use

                                         11am – 12pm - 8 November 2011

We all know about the worrying increases in the price of electricity and gas.

Recent jumps in gas and electricity bills (averaging 18% and 16% respectively) will put an extra one million UK households at risk of fuel poverty this winter. That’s 10.5 million people who are struggling to stay warm.

‘Heat or eat’ is a very real dilemma for an increasing number of households.

That’s why helping tenants to save energy is so vitally important for housing associations. It helps their tenants stay warm and healthy in winter and it saves them money.

It also helps to combat climate change because if tenants consume less energy then they leave less of a carbon footprint.

Unfortunately housing association staff are not usually experts in home energy and so might not feel confident enough to educate their tenants about energy awareness issues.

That’s why we have asked Anna Watts of the Centre for Sustainable Energy to put together an hour long live webinar to show social landlords how to do it.

In one hour Anna will cover six key areas which will help housing association staff be able to provide better support to their tenants on energy awareness issues.

Key topics include:

·          Why is this such an important area?

·          What are the common energy issues that tenants have?

·          What do tenants need to know about energy use and waste in the home?

·           How Registered Social Landlords can help their tenants save energy

·           How to be a greener landlord

·          Next steps and where to go for further support
